How to play Broadside

20 lines, wins by 3 or more matching symbols from the left. In the base game our frigate can land only on the first reel and the enemy corsair only on the fifth; each carries a gun rating (2, 3, 5 or 10). When both stand on the same row they fight: every hit adds the firer's gun to the row's flag, a ship hit twice sinks, the whole row turns wild and its lines are multiplied by the flag.

Free spins have their own paytable. Before the bonus starts you choose your side: Navy or Pirates. Navy — steadier, Pirates — riskier; both sides return the same on average.

In free spins Navy ships (tiers 1–4) land only on the first reel and Pirate ships only on the fifth; the fleets take position before the first free spin. Ships stay on their cells (the other cells spin around them). When a row holds a ship on each side they duel: the higher tier wins and the loser explodes (tier 4 beats everything); equal tiers draw — the cannonballs meet in the centre and leave a wild block (4 vs 4: 3×4, 3 vs 3: 3×3, 2 vs 2: 2×3, 1 vs 1: 1×2), both wrecks turn wild too. A draw pays whichever side you chose. Navy win (Navy chosen): the row turns wild and its flag grows (the higher the winning tier, the more); lines through wild rows are multiplied by the sum of their flags. Pirate win (Pirates chosen): the row rolls a multiplier of the bet — the higher the tier, the higher it goes (tier 4 up to ×1000). A win of the other side pays nothing.
